Solving poverty doesn't “solve” abortion, despite what many may
believe. Alleviating poverty and economic distress may have an impact in
lowering the abortion rate, but unless you change the minds of individuals to
reject abortion as morally acceptable, you're not going to reduce it by much, if
at all. It's a hard thing to acknowledge, but abortion can be viewed by
some as an easy, or easier way out of what many come to view as a difficult

The most common excuses I've heard for why abortion should be accepted are: the mothers don't have the money to support the children, the mothers don't want to have a child that came from rape (check this out), pregnancy is embarrassing for the mother and her family (especially if she is a minor), and the baby has mental/physical defects (you know Margaret Sanger? well check this out).
